Ahh It has been a few weeks since I last blogged. I have been busy playing catch up with school work and work. Its either staying back after work in the weekdays or going back to the office in the weekend or going to school. I don't seems to have much of a life these days.. and people are saying that I am spending too much time in the office. Yes I got to admit that office is now like my second home :)
I guess this is gonna be another long entry as I will be blogging about three runs and two home works and one user training.
I was busy from the 25th to 27th of June as I have to conduct trainings and system walk throughs to a group of 80 or so participants. First day was pretty bad as the system had some bugs and I had some problems with the one managing the project from that organization. Basically my role is the project manager for my company for that project whereas on their side, they have one as well to do all the necessary coordinating, and so we initially had some problems with each other because of some issues that I don't think I wanna talk about it here but I guess everything seems to be ok now after I found out an effective way of dealing with her :P.
On the 30th, I basically went back to office but prior to that I met up with the Orion guys as they went for a paintball session. They were having prata while I had my share of Ice Milo after which Sham dropped me off at AMK Hub as I was heading back towards office. Stayed in office till around 9plus before I went back home for a run. I did the normal 5.2km run but at a faster pace after I was chased by some youngster.. but eventually i used him as a pacer and eventually caught up with him, over took him and he lost me as I head back home. :) Good Run!
On the 1st of July, Sean asked me out for a run with him. Basically he has not been running for ages and told me to join him for a run. As he stayed at Pasir Ris, I told him to wait for me at his place while I run to his place to meet him and to do a 3km run around his estate with him before I head back home. The whole run was pretty smooth and enjoyable as he asked me how I had managed to run to such a condition (cos I was a PES E clerk in army last time and was pretty weak and he was my sgt last time and was pretty fit). I shared abit of what I know about running with him before I said good bye and headed home. When I reached Tampines, I told myself to do abit more as I was still not so tired and so I continued a new route and eventually completed the run at around 12km. The running route is below:
After the 12km run.. I rested for a couple of days before I did another run again and for that run.. I had totally forgotten about the date! See that's the problem with joining too many races! I kept thinking that MILK Run is on the 20th of July till i collected the race kit on Friday and checked the web site to realise that the run is actually on the 6th of July and so I didn't do any run for that few days before MILK. On the day itself, I woke up pretty early to drink water, have a good breakfast and to prepare myself for the race that day at 3pm. The flag off timing for 9.4km competitive was 3.15 and so I left my house at around 1pm to catch the shuttle buses that picked participants up from Outram to the start location. This is also the first time that I am using my Garmin ForeRunner 305 after waiting for its shipment from Amazon and Subsequently VPost.
The run was pretty enjoyable. Each Participant was issued with a Yellow running t-shirt which I thought was pretty nice but for a race like that, I had preferred to use my running top and shorts. The host for the event was pretty funny too as I stood in the starting point with one of the sgrunner member. The run started with a bit of bump here and there but was pretty alright. I had a slight headache during the run but persevered on and managed to complete the 9.4km. Alot of people eventually overtook me but I thought that it was still a good run as I had enjoyed it. I almost did an additional loop as the signs for the loop were misleading and thus I had wasted a few minutes running part of the "extra" loop and the total distance reflected on my garmin was around 8.7km.
Well that should be all ba. I should be joining a CBD Run tomorrow :) and besides that I have to spend some time to do my home work le! Sorry for the lengthy update! Still got other things I wanna put in but shall make it the next post like my Garmin Review and my MILK Run Tag :P |
